Hey ladies and gentlemen, I am trying to go to Farrier school but the only problem I have is I don't have the money and can't get it anytime soon. A little about me, I am 20 years old with a 3 year old son that I love more than anything. I am wanting to go to Farrier School to get ahead of the game and starting planting my sons roots. You can learn more about me from the link below. This link is to a donate page. A $1.00 is more than nothing and anything helps. Thanks for taking your time and reading this.

(Ray Steele removed the link to the donation site, school listed was in Arkansas, I PM d Heath requesting that he remove this post)

    Michael,

I have requested that Heath remove this post, stating that it is ok for him to partake in conversation but not to solicit money. The school that he mentioned was in Arkansas. going to the cash taking site he stated that he is looking to go to the $7900.00 12 week course.

When i wanted to start I worked third shift at night, and apprenticed with a guy during the day, a few days a week. Saved my money. Signed up for shoeing school, put in a two weeks notice, Quit my job at Christmas break, and started my business after a two week farrier course. Didn't know anything. "Don't recommend doing it that way!!" But I do recommend riding with someone and making sure you like the work, after that, save your money and follow your dreams. Anything is achievable (going to school) if you want it bad enough.

    Heath,
I wouldn't do it like this. You won't make it in this business if you don't earn it. You're actually begging here.

Hello Heath I hope maybe you can help me, I am an only son, my father who died in a motor accident some months ago he was a contractor to federal government of Nigeria. Before he gives up in the hospital he told my mother and I that he deposited sum of US $ 9.5 million with a security company and where the document is. But he did not let them know that the content is money.
Since after my father's death my uncles bringing troubling my mother with their useless traditional there have taking all of my father's belongings/properties and left us with nothing just because, my mother is not from Nigeria. As a result of this problem my mother feel into an illness. Now she is seriously sick and I have spent all the money we have on drugs and hospital bill.
We have nothing to do than to look for a way to claim the consignment (money) form the security company. We have contacted them and them said before the consignment will be released to us that we are going to pay for the demurrage. Now we are looking for some one, I hope you Heath who will assist us and claim the consignment (money) so that when it arrived to his home/ country he will take his own share and send us our own. I am writing this mail to see if you can assist us.
Upon receipt of your acknowledgment mail I shall send you the contact of the security company as well as our telephone number.
    Thanks

Hope to hear from you soon.

About three years ago, an older lady who works with my daughter, met a 21 year old kid who really wanted to go to Farrier school., but he or his family didn't have the funds. So she paid for the school.
Through my daughter we worked out an apprenticeship and he moved out here from Colorado. I have never met a more polite, thankful, willing, and committed kid.
    For about two weeks.
He got frustrated and found the work and skill level to do this a bit more than he had planed. I had to send him packing after three or four weeks.
I have also known a few guys who went to Farrier school on some government retraining program. They washed out even faster.

    Travis,
You're talking about the opposite situation. We all have given help. From little things you've mentioned, it sounds like the guy you have is a good hand. It also sounds like he's earning what ever you pay him. How long would you keep that up if he were slowing you down and costing you money?

Well I'd appreciate someone taking over my business and we can split the future profit 75 -25 seeing how you will be working and I won't. I'll need that 75% to help me make ends see each other. Oh by the way, you get to pay all the expenses out of your 25%.

Ur spot on Bill he is a good hand and has earned every penny along the way ..and ur right if they can't pull and clinch em up in a week chances are they need to find another trade... Truthfully I think 14 k is outrageous for a Shoeing school..and here's why..for one it may take that for the school to turn profits I don't know ..I say anyone willing to pay that needs to think long and hard ..its pretty known there is a very high failure rate in the farrier trade and for many diff reasons ..I think most of all cause its damn hard..2 nd there is so much more to this than nailing on shoes...business end can be tricky...I seen a lot of good shoe farriers a Cfs and cjf struggle to keep work and to keep a high pay rates..there's a misconception out there that all you gotta do is learn to shoe..but if you can't deal with the clients and there high crazy demands ..its a hard go at makeing a living.. and to me makeing a living Shoeing is not Shoeing a few days makeing a few hundred cause the wife's a nurse with good insurance and ends are meeting like a mother trucker..Shoeing for a living is putting up retirement..paying insurances..and running it like a true business..knowing what the hell it takes to make it profitable..nothing wrong with the wife doing well and the family working as one ..but thrse guys out here Shoeing for 70 bucks all four feet ain't making a living they making beer money and killing the rest of our assess..makeing it tuff on the new kids Comming up ...the numbers don't add up your not turning a profit doing that cheap..keep in mind I'm talking about the long haul saving for retirement..not beer money.. with all the uncertainies in this business 14 k is a big risk... And I damn sure ain't gonna give some ass wipe kid donation to go to farrier school so he can get out and cut the other farriers throat...hell what's he have invested ...nothing...I get tired of people thinking this world owes them something..don't nobody owe you a damn thing..get ur lazy ass out and work if you wanna go to farrier school
