Next is a bedslide and all the gear. Got some air bags to help with the load. Still have the trailer if I need the kitchen sink.
Red, It will be painted to match the truck and permanently attached. I don't need it as a Ute I have a 3500 dually diesel Dodge for the heavy lifting. Its going to be a dedicated shoeing rig. Used it over the weekend and today, worked well frustrated me a couple of times because I was missing some gear that's always on the trailer but it will evolve. Pain at the gas pump was the payback though. I normally burn $50 - $80 of diesel a day this gas sipper only used $20 today ! LOVIN IT! Tom by the time I get the slide and shoe rack in it will need a hammer and crow bar to get it off.
EEEEEEEEEXELENT Good to see good folks getting on looks like you will have a stack of roon for all the bells n whistles should end up a top shoeing rig will you have a wee generator , you blokes can buy the cheap overthere Ive one on my shed that I picked up seconhand a little two stroke motor runs gench grinder n drills angel grinder but sadly wond run a welder not that I need it to often lets me have power out in the paddock if needed handy that at times
Steve, John is going to be away from the computer for a few days. But I know he likes it a lot. Much better than the powerstroke before this one came out.
I had one of the 6.0 powerstrokes it was good for the first 80k then for the next 80 it was a nightmare. Got a Cummins to replace it. Truck is not as nice as the King Ranch was but it runs like a top
The 6.4 can be improved greatly with an EGR delete kit. And if you add tge right programmer, you're over 500 hp.
..we use a box van.. excuse the red and blue anvil..that came about because we painted some old duck decoys and threw them in the pond at a really nice place messing with owner so after a while after he spent days trying to figure out who put those ugly things in there we painted the anvil to see if he would catch on...btw I blew the motor in the pc of shit 6.4 ford only had 100k.. that's how I ended up with box van...I have trailer I had rather pull but no truck to do so ...I need to sell it..
I saw a story once where guys got to pranking each other at a contest, and the one guy's hammer ended up glued to the roof of the tent with Superfast. The guys who did it found a ransom note and a treasure map to where their anvil was buried. I laugh every time I think about it!
Lmao..that is a good one....at this old guys shop one day I ask him where he got that big old anvil...he said he was in Texas and judging something and they where giving him hell about his anvil being smaller because he lifted on and off the truck...the next day he come out to set up and the anvil was gone but on its place was this huge anvil he could not pick up...so he did not set up he just climbed in and out of the truck to use the big anvil ....at the end of the day he packed up in a hurry and came back to Alabama...lol..
Finished the slide out a couple of weeks ago. I had been going to get a round tuit for a couple of years, and finally got it. Previously I had the forge and grinders on swingouts. The slide out is MUCH easier to set up and use - I'm lovin' it. Thanks to Nate Crumley for posting pics of his on HS. I hope he's lurking here to see my grinder mount.
