This is a great tool for barefooters and farriers. When the chain will old,you can make a damascus hoofknife.

    Gabino,

perhaps we should start a thread for this and other activities like it, i d suggest ......horses ass thread but would not want to be impolite to all the rear ends of horses, i wonder if horses ever talk amongst themselves about some of the foolish humans?

 I'm impressed with the composure the horse has!

Not that much different then using a hacksaw for the really long ones...o_O

I have no idea where those folks come from but i want to pass on this advice, something i neer never do based on a pic, that is, if they are on medication for lowering their intelligence, i believe that they can stop now, save there money, in my opinion they have reached the objective of the meds. .............if not.............

I am speachless. I have seen similar pics but they have been mocked up, this looks like the horses leg not a cadiver one and that saw is buzzing! More of a worry is the strap that seems dangerously close to the buzzing saw and hanging down!!

Don't know it. The pic is running for facebook. I can see the chainsaw is Still, then they could be americains. The helper has in his t-shirt the Kerckahert logo, then he could be Ducht. The horse looks Ardennais, then they could be french, perhaps spanish too.

Here at Spain I can see the same thing, with a electric plane of carpenter. I saw in another time, with an axe.

Just wondering ; What's the difference between a chainsaw and grinder? It looks for me equally dangerous.

I think the discussion should turn to hand made saws, arguing about chain sharpening methods. Living in REAL logging country, I know you can get Kevlar so-you-don't-cut-your-leg-off aprons. It is good to see that the Stihl-Husky controversy has all ready started, I go Husky on that.
The chain bar is covering the hoof, but I sure hope they mapped it out before they fired up the saw.

    Sorry
basturdizing goes on in a different department, please stay on subject, and no cutting up! start another thread if ya want to cry!

to stay on topic, a couple of slips and while that fella has protected his hands via use of the lunge line, he could be cut in such a way as to never be able to pass on his brilliance thru normal reproductive methods.........
I m pretty sure that they are not yanks, .... the chain saw did not sound like an American accent

Ive used electric saws and angle grinders on sedated horses
also hammer struck sole knives and pruning saws and long handled pruning sheares
But what we see in this photo to me isnt smart or clever
what it is , is a very bad prang waiting to happen with devistating life long consiquences
    The horse is somthin yeah
get one let you do this to it and the same horse put you through the wall kickin at a bot fly
    its got me buggered ay
Its not an inanimate object were working on
and it has at any given time some sort of attitude

It would be nice if that is what it was. However I cannot see the individual teeth on the chain so therefore it's likely moving.
Also someone on facebook said the original poster took the picture down.
