Good day I am having a problem with a horse laming and hoping i could get some advice as to what i could do to solve the problem. About a month ago i was called to look at a horse that was laming from a stone bruise. Up to this time the horse is still laming i think it could probably be laminitis but i am not sure if its that. When trimming the hoof the hoof was bleeding. What should I do? Never dealt with a case like this before. Please advise!

You should not trim the hoof so short that it bleeds. Have you thought about finding another job?

I did not trim it too short I think the horse has a real bad foot problem. I am a teacher. Being a farrier is only part time. It had a stone bruise shortly before I started but the bruise healed and it was still laming. I only cleared under the hoof a little with the rasp.

It's more of a Vet problem now, not a shoeing problem
