    I found a piece of history in my arena . I cleaned it up , this is what I found . :)

    Its possible , there haven't been horses on this property, since mine 8 yrs ago, for probably 80 yrs or so ..

    looks like a working horse hind shoe, similar set up is still used by many pulling horses, ie the pulling horse competitions. the nail pattern and crease looks like a Phoenix brand to me.

    if an ice shoe ,round here, the toe chaulk and outside heel would be sharpened.

    There hasen't been enough ice in Shannon's area for ice shoes since the last ice age.
    I see a lot of those around, I think Ray nailed it.

    I didn't know where Shannon was from and I figured the sharp points had worn/rusted away.

    the points may have rusted away,who knows,
    It looks to me that one heel chaulk was turned or added square and the other was 1/2 rounded.

    I usually don t find things like that unless i buy a brand new lawn mower!

    Good point . yes the shoe is worn on one side cant really tell if this a left or right shoe anymore. Think ill hang it up for decoration. :)
