    i am running out of gas forge welding flux , i have been using Iron mountain ? what are you on ,what do you think is the best ?

    Been using Swan Magic Weld. Tried some others, but the Swan has never let me down - especially in a gas forge.

    i will rephrase the question , what is it ? i think the iron mountain is better but magi weld has never let me down

    I have used both for prolonged periods of time and have found iron mountain to be far better.

    Chris, I dont sorry the bottle doesn't give too much away. I think some of our american friends could answer this better than me.

    John, I found that welds stick better and the scarfs blend in beautifully with the iron mountain when welding in a gas forge. The iron mountain tends to localise the heat and speeds up coke forge welding too.

    IM seems more reliable and i reckon needs slightly less heat but it could be my imagination , i also think you dont need as much

    straight , eggbar , preventer hinds , and the squaretoe with a trailer , the one for the isle of wight open next week , the 2 piece one you weld in the toe , also trying the forge welded calk , i will showyou at stoneleigh

    1"x 3/8 , 1x6/1/2 1 x 5 3/4 , i have tried mainly with 3/4 x 3/8 coz i have plenty of that laying around

    been trying the 2 piece c/w roadster with 3/4 x 1/2 welded in the toe as well
