Any one used these? There are 100s of pairs in our store room but there's no glue with them. I read somewhere you use ordinary super glue with them? I have superfast equilox adhere and super glue at hand will any of these work?
And if additional traction is needed, pickle relish works well. And Hellman's mayonnaise makes a wonderful frog support material. Or, if using Kosher dill pickle spears rather than ketchup to affix the shoe to the hoof, it makes a very cushy rim pad. All these materials are available for purchase in the food and condiment section of the Horseshoes Unlimited Winter Barbeque Catalog right after the "good for what ales(sic) you section of the catalog.....
David, Condiments aside, I would suggest contacting mustard group, asking them about a glue , as I remember mustard always touted that the glue that they sold was something special, see what their "customer service" is like now that they ve taken the money. I say this because anything that you use, if not sanctioned by mustard, will negate any ability on your part to comment about the product. If you do contact mustard, please let us know the response, I know of a few folk who have some of those bangers on the shelf. Regards Ray Steele
I can save you some time dave. Use regular mustard in the summer or hot weather but.... when it drops below 50 degrees use the hot and spicy mustard other wise it takes forever to glue on the mustard shoe.
Equilox, works well with those shoes, make sure to clean the tabs on the shoes. And clean the hoof welll.
Dave and Dave, as an added attachment, if you poke/drill holes in/thru the tabs and let the equilox ooze thru, a mechanical attachment will be created via the equilox coming back to itself. the same holds true for vet tec, superfast and adhere. Fe and ali clips/clipped with holes work as well.Same requirement for prep. Ray
