Shop ventilation

    Hey i just bought a new house that has a garage and im setting up a gas forge for now and was wondering what i should do for ventilation?? Will a simple exhaust fan work??

    are you concerned with excess heat or CO or both?

    best bet is to talk to a hvac guy, tell him the sqr footage of the garage and he will be able to tell you the exact size of the vent opening/fan size per code. good on you for being concerned about the CO; beats feeling like crap after a evening of forging.

    Get a CO detector/alarm. About $25.

    just go for a coke forge & gas, side by side and vent both at the same time through a 12"stack. Things go better with coke; don't ya know!

    I have a coal forge also but its built on wheels to roll out side trying to keep this a small shop im building a 40x60 shop in the spring

    If you feel hungover in the morn get a bigger fan..up grade fan and window opens after each hangover until hangovers stop..this only works if you don't drink while fourging..or you could go the more proper route and use the above advise ..don't forget to pit ur helmet on ...

    I wouldn't worry about CO as it ain't listed as a greenhouse gas. ;)
