Can anyone shed some light on the value of a Wiley Russell cone mandrel. I m told that it stands about 30 inches tall, 27 inches at the base tapering to 15 inches with a tong slot. The logo is cast in the slot. It s been offered to me but i ve never heard this version before and wondered if anyone has or if they have suggestions about it s value. i ll post a pic when one is sent to me if possable

    Thanks

    Ray,

Is the mandrel solid or hollow? Cast Iron?

    Rick,

thanks i ve been to some of those sites but i d like to get some kinds of $# I have two Wiley Russels and some of their other tools but I ve never seen this thing listed.

    George,
    thanks i ll try anvilfire, I d guess 150 to 160 lbs.

    Tom,

    it s hollow,cast

it looks like it could be the base section for another cone to be put on top, but i can t imagine doing that, and the fact that the name is in the cone slot says to me that it is an individual piece, thanks for the help so far

Ok, I asked because I did a rough calculation based on it being "solid" cast iron in your reported dimensions and came up with ~2900 lbs. Glad it's hollow?

    George,

How do you decide what is over inflated? Kayne and sons has a 24 inch 72 lbs cone for $550.00,new, what do you think the $ value per lb should be?

I m sure you missed typed, but as Ricky said to Lucy, would you splain the term weight per pound?

    thanks
