In '99 me and the ole' man watched the first reiners slide at Gladstone when their induction was achieved for the USET/USEF induction. Most of the small stud ponies needed their hocks done. Most that came to "our shop" had medial toe nail pain. Besides 'throwing " 29 NBS shoes up front. Anecdote, " winner IS Drunken Mexican; bridal less" in the freestyle.
Dressing Flares is a way to mediate "a way of going" to fit a shoe to appease a pleasant appearance(s). Also, a way to keep the foot in check. As stated " the horn is malleable".
    "Dressings"- tidy job with shine.;)

Maybe so John. "Set 4 feet on the ground per said accomplishments doesn't mean long term results of accomplishment".

Agreed John. Pacers are owners' induced problems for farriers. A lot like dressage. Basics.....................;)

Have to agree a bit on the break over thing. But what I did on the one I extended the toe was gave a good lift in the toe. I do know before I did this, there was a problem, now the horse get a good slide. Good results were achieved. Rider was happy.

Good Pony, alternate in ' 84. Did him till the day ; God Bless.

Whether the back paddock pony or the "Leapy Lad", I have never made a difference(s) in the farrierry applied. Nor do most.

Looking to be comparative; per pics, in "Shine"?

Smitty, watch them when they slide..every Trainer I shod or shoe for want a bold medial toe to keep the hoof in the slide. If you cheat them any they will spread more than desired..I hope I am explaining it so you understand what I am sayin?:) Years ago some Trainers wanted you to nail the shoe on alittle bit tilted to the medial and not straight in line with the frog..as I build all my sliders I used nail placement to please them. Made them think I turned or twisted the shoe...:)
