I thought about starting this same thread the other day but I wanted to wait till I got my rig done. I've been Shoeing out of the truck for years but I've been putting in a new transmission. 1967 Chevy short bed. Slide in Shoeing body made by black creek bed. I'll post a few pics in a day or two

Just in case your not aware EGR is exhaust gas recirculation, or in laymans terms Corprophagia!. Its a bad habit.

On most diesels built since 2004 it was fitted in order to reduce NOx emmisions. Most did not measure actual egr flow till around late 2005 when delta p pressure sensors were proved to be relatively reliable , instead using algorithms to calculate flow. These therefore do not set CEL but may set information codes. Newer diesels from 2010 EPA up use DEF and egr flow is reduced by almost two thirds improving engine longevity and heat build up reduction. Removing an EGR system requires a little thought. Plus its illegal.

Simplest thing is do what I did....buy a 2003 - 2006 Dodge with the Cummins ISB. Its common rail, quiet, efficient and has no EGR!

2003 - 2007 2007.5 is when dodge went to the 6.7 i have a 2007.5 6.7 with 586 rwhp and not a puff of smoke this new emissions crap is a joke it does NOT prolong engine life at all it kills turbos, injectors, injector pumps, basically rendering all trucks with this nox crap junk unless you delete the crap.

Zach on the Dodge its easy if its a 6.7 leave it alone. When they put the 6.7 in they also added the big badge on the door. It was never intended to prolong engine life just reduce NOx. Do you think the EPA gives a damn how long the truck lives!

All the 2007 dodges have the same badge and the 6.7 its self reduces NOx it is a much cleaner engine
